AN Ekiti State
High Court has sentence two persons to life imprisonment for attempted robbery,
conspiracy and willful damage.The convicted men,Mr. Adebayo Rufus,a
25-uyear-old commercial motorcyclist,a native of Otun,in Moba Local Government
Area,and one Bamidele Rasheed,a 27-year-old beans dealer in Agbowo
Area,Ibadan,Oyo State,Nigeria,were found guilty of the committed offense on
September 29,2008 at Otun,Ekiti in Ekiti State,Nigeria.
They were charged with attempted robbery, conspiracy and
willful damage.The convicts were found guilty of count three and sentenced to
six months imprisonment. While on counts one and two,they were also found
guilty of robbing one Mrs. Ajayi Kofoworola of 1,500 Nigerian naira,equivalent
to 9 US dollars, and thereby sentenced to life imprisonment.
Justice J.O. Adeyeye,in his judgement,said ,based on the
evidence before the court, and testimony of the witnesses, he found the accused
persons guilty and, therefore, sentenced them to life imprisonment.
